Haha, this is one I genuinely relate to; feels like my entire scholastic life. Makes me wonder why intelligence and apathy are so frequently combined. In my case, being raised with impossibly high standards, both from my family and myself. Bred fatalism, a demon not easily dismissed. Wonder what it was in your case.
Anyways, to the work. These six word pieces are always tricky, but you certainly made it work here. I am curious as to why the two phrases have differing levels of quotation, as the doesn't seem to be a grammatical reason for it. All of the words are perfectly children to just give the right ambiguity. Called apathetic by whom? That's the real question here, and it really flips the meaning depending by whom is saying it; the subject themselves or would be detractors.
